James Christopher Frey (born September 12, 1969) is an American writer and a self-described former alcoholic, drug addict, and convicted criminal. In late 2005 and early 2006, The Smoking Gun and other investigators discovered that critical elements of his bestselling memoir, A Million Little Pieces, were not true.

Frey has been published in twenty-two languages worldwide.
